Saturday May 1 I hope we make it here. I haven't seen the Thunderbirds since I worked on base wayyyyyyy back in 1978. I worked on base near the flight line and the supervisor NCO asked me on that Friday if I would like to walk out to the tarmac and watch the Thunderbirds land for the news media show. Only the base personnel and the news media were allowed on base that day. So I walked out there with him and the OIC (Officer in Charge) and watched as they Thunderbirds put on their "landing" show. It was breath taking and very wonderful to watch. They performed for the "open house" (everyone that wants to go on base can...they open the gates and let you go right on) Of course I got there before that happened as I had an ID (civilian ID..but it got me on base :)) because I didn't want to mess with the traffic after the gates opened. The show they did Saturday was not as good as the one they did on Friday. The NCOIC (non commissioned officer in charge) told me that it's because there aren't as many ppl out there on the news media day, so they do more risky maneuvers. If they crashed on that day the odds of them hurting anyone would be slim. But at the open house if they crashed the tarmac would be packed with people, other airplanes, etc. so the chances were very large that it would be bad. If perchance you would like to read about the Thunderbirds here is there site.
Yes it is 6 a.m. and no I haven't slept. I went to bed at 3 and just lay there. The doctor will give me samples of sleeping pills but those only make me groggy the next day and I feel like I haven't slept at all. *sigh* I should try to remember to call the doctor anyway. My vein in my wrist has a bulge in it. I don't know what it is and I seem to be getting enough blood to my fingers as they aren't turning blue or extremely cold, but, well. I hate going to the doctor anymore. He has no PA's now and is seeing all his patients and his demeanor isn't what it usually is. He's more stressed and getting a little burned out, so I only go for my regular checkups. every 3 months. Soooooooo But IF I remember I will call and make an appointment.
Have a great day everyone.

I hope you get to see the show. They have quite a line up on the program. Some of the outdoor excitement might help you sleep later that night too.
Did you remember to make an appointment?
Every time the Thunderbirds come to this area, we promise ourselves that we will go. And every time something comes up. I hope you make it and maybe can take some pictures to post.
Did you remember to make an appointment?
Hope you get some sleep tonight!
